Artistic exploration lives and breathes between the spaces and cracks of nature and society. Layering elements upon structure and vice versa, my artwork attempts to define and document this in-between space. Considerations are made on the minute scale while again referenced in the grander whole of an image. By zooming in and out one questions the powers of repetition from which my artwork takes form; the process.
Establishing rules and guidelines when creating, I find myself mimicking the scientific research method, developing a hypothesis (my questions), methodology (the process), and results (the artwork). This has proved a successful reform to image creation while allowing personal exploration through content.
I will use what I accrue from image creation as a vehicle to better understand humanity in an overall attempt to better communication on the global scale. A visual first philosophy relying on research could provide communication beyond language and beyond borders. I hope to enrich visual culture through the images I produce and the perspective I offer.
